Healthy Mind, Body and Soul

Gustavus Wellbeing Initiative

Changing the culture is a big undertaking, the Women's Soccer program knows this as we have worked tirelessly over the last two years to create a new and improved culture of success and teamwork.  The larger campus community of Gustavus is undertaking an initiative to focus on the "interdependence of purpose, vitality, and connection to live the College's core values of faith, justice, excellence, community and service."

A quick glance at new programs on campus to foster a better wellbeing in all aspects of one's life:

Be U Peer Coaching Groups: "More than 180 students and employees are participating in peer coaching groups to identify and reach their individual well-being goals in a confidential, small-group setting."

Financial Literacy Program: "Nearly 500 students are engaged in a financial literacy program run by the Finance Club."

Mindful Eating Program: "20 employees are participating in a pilot program to learn to eat instinctively and create a healthier attitude toward food."

The Wellbeing Initiative is all about helping the Gustavus community thrive with authenticity, purpose, health, and balance to meet the challenges of a world in need.  The Wellbeing page will feature stories to help inspire and motivate Gusties to live healthy, happy and satisfying lives.  Also a way to connect with the initiative via Facebook, Twitter and their blog.

Their overall message: When it comes to our individual and collective well-being, remember: every choice counts!
