Youth Camp and High School Girls Camp: Everyone Loves Soccer Camp!
Gustavus Women's Soccer put on two successful weeks of summer soccer camps with the Youth Camp running June 23rd-27th and the High School Girls Camp running July 7th-10th. With college athletes, college level coaching and gorgeous weather, it was two perfect weeks of soccer, games, technique, scrimmages and FUN! Both camps had an overall theme of "World Cup" with all the World Cup Qualifying games going on this summer. Campers were quizzed daily on their World Cup knowledge with the chance to win prizes. There was also an ongoing theme of Rooball for both camps; the Women's Soccer teams favorite individual point game, where you can accumulate points in game for goals, wins, ties and shutouts was run with different size games going every night.
For the Youth Camp technical sessions with a good amount of fun soccer games thrown in were run twice a day with full field scrimmages going at night. Capture the flag, Gustavus Campus Scavenger Hunt and a Campfire with s'mores were some of the night time activities after all the soccer was done. At the end of camp and a morning of Rooball games, the Rooball points were tallied and the prizes handed out.
