Player of the Week: Moni Pelkey (9/30-10/5)

Two Games, Two Goals, This Girl is on a Roll!

First year midfielder Moni Pelkey has kicked it into high gear the last week.  Not only has her play been steadily improving in practice, her performance in games has stepped up a notch, in the form of two goals on the scoreboard!

Moni is a feisty, gritty, hardworker, who sees time in both the defensive and attacking center midfield positions.  She is a hard working and tough on herself and teammates, demanding she do better and her teammates do better.  Just the kind of player teammates and coaches want on the roster.

Her hard work has definitely paid off as the team has been focused on getting up and involved in the attack.  With the creativity flowing through the forwards and midfielders, Moni has found herself higher up the field and in great scoring position in both conference games against St. Mary's and St. Olaf.  She made sure she converted by putting away a nice ball from her classmate Coursey Edwards for the Gusties' 2nd goal and eventual game-winner in Wednesday's win over St. Mary's.  Then it was Pelkey again on Saturday to register the lone point in the Gusties loss to St. Olaf.

Congratulations Moni!  Great work-keep it up!
